Software Information

The PSDUE driver software is designed to run on a variety of Mobile Computers using the Windows Mobile and CE operating systems. Portsmith certifies and supports as many manufacturers and models as possible. Additional devices are tested regularly, and Portsmith will test additional devices at no cost to a Reseller or Manufacturer. If you have a device you would like to have tested please contact sales@portsmith.com.

In the main area, the upper panel will display the USB device tree. Select a device in this tree to see more information. In the main area, the lower panel will display details for the selected USB device. Locate the device Vendor ID and Product ID in the data displayed for the currently selected USB device. ASMedia Technology Inc. (祥碩科技) is a Taiwanese integrated circuit design company owned by Asus. It produces designs for USB, PCI Express and SATA controllers. The Promontory AM4 chipsets for AMD's Zen micro-architecture were designed by ASMedia.

Requirements

USB Host

  • The PSDUE driver is designed to work on a handheld that has Host USB capabilities.
  • Manufacturer specifications usually indicate if the device has a USB “On The Go” (OTG) or “USB Host” capability.

PSDUE Installation

Download the appropriate version of PSDUE specified in the individual Product Page. (Your browser may warn you about potentially dangerous software). Copy it to your device using ActiveSync or removable storage such as MicroSD and SD Cards supported.

Windows Mobile Installation:

You can connect a USB mouse, USB flash drive, or an external USB hard disk drive (HDD) to the USB port(s) on your DVR / NVR. If the DVR / NVR is not detecting the USB device, ensure you have installed the latest firmware updates for the DVR / NVR. Refer to your user manual for details on how to upgrade firmware. If the DVR / NVR is running the latest firmware and is still not detecting your USB device, try the troubleshooting steps below.

Drivers

USB Mouse:

  • Wireless mice require special drivers and are currently not supported on the DVR / NVR systems.
  • If you connected a USB mouse and it is not recognized, restart the DVR / NVR with the mouse plugged in.
  • Use a different USB port on the DVR / NVR.

USB Flash Drive:

  • If you connected an USB flash drive and it is not recognized, restart the DVR / NVR with the USB flash drive plugged in.

  • Use a different USB port on the DVR / NVR.

  • Format the USB flash drive on your computer. After formatting the drive, insert it into the DVR / NVR.

    REQUIREMENT: Back up data before formatting. Formatting the USB flash drive will erase all data.

  • The USB flash drive may be malfunctioning. Use a new USB flash drive with the DVR / NVR system.

USB Hard Disk Drive:

  • If you connected a USB hard disk drive and it is not recognized, restart the DVR / NVR with the USB hard disk drive plugged in.
  • Use a different USB port on the DVR / NVR.
  • If your USB hard disk drive uses external power, check the power source and connection.
  • Refer your product specifications sheet or user manual to ensure the USB hard disk drive storage capacity does not exceed storage capacity limits of the DVR / NVR. Click here for downloads and documentation for your product.
